I came to birthwork through motherhood, but stayed because I became fascinated by everything that surrounds it—the strength of women, the unpredictability of birth, and the enormous shift that happens when someone becomes a mother.
Today, I support women through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood with doula care, birth education, prenatal yoga and postpartum support here in Melbourne.
My role isn’t to tell you how to give birth. It’s to help you feel informed, supported and listened to as you find the way that feels right for you.
At home or in hospital, with
pain relief or without, planned or unexpected—there are many ways to bring a baby into the world, and each one is extraordinary.
Evidence and medical expertise matter. So do your instincts, your boundaries and the things only you can know about yourself. You are the expert of your body.
I’m not there to take over the room. I’m there to notice what you need, help you understand what’s happening and stay beside you through it.
My own experience of pregnancy, birth and early motherhood shapes the way I understand this work—but I’ll never assume your experience should look like mine.
A doula is a non-medical support person who is there through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. Before birth, we get to know each other, talk through your hopes and concerns, explore your options and prepare for the different ways birth might unfold.
During labour, I’m a familiar, continuous presence—offering physical comfort, helping you understand what’s happening and supporting you and your partner along the way. I work alongside your midwife, obstetrician or other care providers, rather than replacing them.
After birth, I’m there as you find your feet with your new baby. We can talk through your birth, work through questions and make space for how you’re feeling. I’m not there to make decisions for you or tell you how things should look—my role is to support you in finding what feels right for you.
So, what do I actually do?
Alongside my formal education, I regularly undertake professional development across birth physiology, prenatal and postpartum care, and maternal wellbeing.
As of January 2026, I have supported 23 births.
