I’m Nina Callahan, a birth doula, educator and prenatal yoga teacher. I support women through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood with knowledge, practical care and a deep respect for the way you want to do things.
I won’t tell you what your birth should look like. Instead, we’ll spend time understanding your options, preparing for the possibilities and discovering what matters most to you. And when the time comes, I’ll be there—a familiar face, a steady presence and someone who already knows what you need.
Because this is your body, your baby and your birth. My role is to help you feel held enough to find your own way through.
At home or in hospital, with pain relief or without, planned or unexpected—there are many ways to bring a baby into the world, and each one is extraordinary.
Evidence and medical expertise matter. So do your instincts, your boundaries and the things only you can know about yourself. You are the expert of your body.
Your body carries a wisdom older than words, and your mind holds more strength than you may know yet. Birth will reveal just how deep your well is.
Information isn’t there to frighten you or tell you what to do. It’s there so that when choices arise, you understand them—and can decide what feels right for you.
From helping you find comfortable positions and creating a calm environment to offering reassurance, advocacy and practical support, a doula stays by your side throughout labour. Here’s what that support can look like—and how it works alongside your medical care.
What does a doula actually do during labour?
A collection of real birth stories, practical guidance and honest conversations about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and the wonderful, terrifying journey of becoming a mother.
